my name is dana hicks. i grew up in portland, oregon, though at the ripe age of 28 it feels as though i’ve lived about a million lives since then.

some bopping about from place to place over the past few years has now led me to dwell in brooklyn, ny! i love love love to draw, and during my junior year at chapman university studying screen acting (yes, i juggle both of these passions still, among many others) i decided to see if my knack for drawing would translate to the medium of skin.

after a bit of research into the art of fine line tattooing, i ordered my very own tattoo gun on amazon along with all the required accoutrements, practiced a bit on a banana, and the rest is history.

fun fact time. i have zero tattoos myself.

i am incredibly indecisive, and have found that living vicariously through inking other people other than myself has definitely scratched that itch.

from casually tattooing friends here and there and the free marketing that tattoos naturally provide, to word of mouth and the magic of an instagram algorithm, i am so grateful to have found myself with an ever-growing clientele that has gotten me to where i am today.
