Frequently Asked Questions
————————
tattoos, understandably, come with a lot of questions! hopefully these will help you find some answers :)
-
i initially taught myself how to tattoo my junior year of college, so around 2019. i made my official instagram page (@ink.blekk) in march of 2021, however, and have been booking each month ever since!
-
very very accidentally. i never planned on becoming a tattoo artist, but drawing in general has always been one of my biggest passions / pastimes. a friend of a friend had purchased his own tattoo gun on the internet and i thought i’d give it a go as well!
i did some research, found all the right supplies, practiced a bit on a banana to get the hang of it, and somebody happened to be willing to be my “guinea pig”, luckily!

no i don’t ◡̈

i use a tight-three needle, which is extremely similar to single needle. essentially it’s three super, super fine needles pressed into a point, which allows for a lot of freedom to add nuances and variety in line thickness / opacity if i so choose, as well as very light shading.

fine-line tattoos are notoriously tricky during the healing process, and require very diligent care during the days following to ensure that the tattoo remains in its finest shape possible! a very in-depth, step-by-step aftercare info sheet can be found here
-
yes i do! if for any reason your fully healed tattoo is in need of touching up down the road, i offer touchups for a flat fee of $50. these appointments typically take up much less time than regular appointments, and are fit into my schedule either start of or end of day.
if you would like to schedule a touchup, simply fill out the booking form and indicate that you are just wanting a touchup.
please wait at least one month after the initial tattoo to schedule a touchup to allow full healing.

yes! my minimum for flash designs is 250, and 300 for customs.
though most of my work is on the teensy side, the total price will depend on the design itself, size, detail level, and how long it ends up taking!
more pricing details can be found here

i do mostly work with black / grey-wash ink, though i have done quite a bit of work with red as well!
other ink colors may be available upon request (i.e. blue, brown, green), though i don’t do as much work with those colors in particular!
-
i love love doing customs! all information regarding how to book a custom design can be found here :)
-
as many as time / your budget allows! typically two small, simple flash designs may fit into the base tier budget bracket. if you are unsure if your preferred budget will cover what you are hoping to get, feel free to ask! (questions like this can be sent to my instagram)
